Payments

Payments is a core product for Cash Management and a growth area in Deutsche Bank’s strategy. To support growth and maintain our position in the competitive payments market, we are investing significantly in Deutsche Bank’s payment infrastructure. The team delivers key applications within the Payment Integration Platform, serving as a single entry point for all payments across the Corporate Bank and the entire enterprise. The applications process over €100 billion in payments monthly across 42 countries in Europe, APAC, and the Americas.

As a Lead QA Automation Engineer (f/m/x), you will define testing strategies, develop automation frameworks, perform functional and non-functional testing, and propose improvements throughout the testing lifecycle—from specification and design to production rollout and level 3 support. You will collaborate closely with business departments, developers, analysts, and project managers from partner teams.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Defining and driving test strategies, including functional, regression, and integration testing approaches
• Creating, maintaining, and improving CI/CD pipelines
• Designing, developing, and supervising automated test suites and frameworks for various platforms and technologies
• Managing quality risks, test planning, and compliance reporting
• Supporting target date deliveries to production, based on scope clarification with the Business team, and preparing reports
• Overseeing test environments and infrastructure to ensure stability for automation needs
• Mentoring QA engineers and promoting best practices in test automation and quality engineering

Your skills and experience:

• Multiple years of IT background and hands-on experience in Software Quality Assurance and automation or software development
• Solid knowledge of core Java, experience with backend automation, REST, Oracle, JMX, and Spring (advantageous)
• Strong understanding of QA processes within the SDLC
• Experience with cloud-native development, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), cloud platforms (GCP, AWS), and scalable distributed systems
• Experience in creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GIT, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
• Strategic thinking focused on maintainability and cross-team collaboration
