Jobbeschreibung

Have you heard of Infineon´s ambitious plan to develop our next automotive microcontroller (MCU) product generation? Do you want to shape the future of smarter, safer, cleaner, and connected cars by solving complex technical challenges? Then we have a great opportunity for you!

As a Lead Principal SoC Architect, you will act as a key driver in our Platform Architecture team to define scalable architecture solutions for our novel automotive platforms. This position is ideally suited for experienced SoC architects. With this position, you will join our Technical Ladder: a special career path for those who share innovative ideas, demonstrate comprehensive technical knowledge, show thought leadership, possess problem-solving abilities, and are able to create business value. This position can be filled in Munich and Langen.

In your new role you will:
  1. Derive product requirements for the SoC Architecture from application assumptions, stakeholder requirements, and system architecture proposals.
  2. Drive the development of a platform architecture, which will be the foundation of new microcontroller product families; to support this goal, scalable architecture solutions for different aspects and parts of our microcontroller products have to be defined, including multiple compute clusters, external memory interfaces such as LPDDR, gigabit-speed communication links, and application-specific accelerator subsystems (AI, graphics), all with ambitious performance and power targets.
  3. Be the lead architect for the different platform variants with their multiple devices.
  4. Define and drive feasibility studies; evaluate solutions regarding cost, performance, power, and software usability.
  5. Technically guide a community of component architects, designers, physical implementation, and verification engineers, and drive decision-making in the technical community.
  6. Ensure the consistency and executability of our architectures.
  7. Proactively drive innovation in microcontroller platform and SoC architecture based on a profound understanding of future product needs and industry trends.

You have a clear notion of how innovation contributes to the company's commercial success, constantly gain new insights by questioning existing assumptions, and inspire others with your ideas, explaining even complex issues clearly and convincingly. Furthermore, you accept responsibility and accountability for decisions, are open to new challenges, and can remain aware of the big picture even in complex situations, making decisions despite uncertain circumstances. If this describes you, then you should join our team!

You are best equipped for this task if you have:
  • A degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or similar.
  • At least 8 years of experience in technical roles related to SoC architectures, design, and/or implementation in leading-edge technology nodes.
  • Profound understanding of high-performance SoC architectures for real-time applications.
  • Experience with:
    • Multi-core subsystems, interconnects, and memory hierarchies.
    • Power management and low power techniques.
  • Knowledge in Functional Safety and Security (experience with ISO26262 or ISO21434 development is a plus).
  • Experience with architecture exploration and PPA estimation.
  • Automotive domain knowledge, especially microcontroller and processor architectures for automotive applications, is an essential plus.
  • Professional self-organization and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and mediation skills.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional and multicultural teams.
  • Fluent English skills; German is a plus.
  • Opportunities for coaching, mentoring, and networking.
  • Access to training and career development planning.
  • International assignments.
  • Various career paths: Project Management, Technical Ladder, Management & Individual Contributor.
  • Flexible working conditions, including home office options.
  • Part-time work options, even during parental leave.
  • On-site amenities: creche, kindergarden (220 spots), social counseling, health programs, gym, sports courts, canteen, private insurance, wage payments during sick leave, performance bonuses, public transport discounts, wheelchair access, and options to work remotely from abroad (EU).
