Zusammenfassung

Infineon Technologies AG in Germany is seeking a Lead Principal Engineer for Timer & Real-Time Control in MCU R&D to shape the future of technology and drive groundbreaking projects.

You will own platform-level Timer architecture, define deterministic timing concepts, and collaborate with SoC/IP Design, Verification, and Software teams to deliver coherent system integration.

Qualifikationen

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, or related field.
  • 7+ years in semiconductor/automotive MCU/SoC architecture with hands-on design.
  • Strong expertise in Timer architecture and deterministic real-time system design.
  • Familiarity with ISO 26262 and functional safety concepts is a plus.
  • Proven ability to translate use-case needs into architectural requirements and KPIs.

  • Own platform-level Timer architecture across MCU generations.
  • Define deterministic timing concepts for real-time control loops (latency/jitter budgets).
  • Drive trade-offs between real-time performance, power, safety, and scalability.
  • Ensure Power-Performance-Area competitiveness for the subsystem across the portfolio.
  • Interface with Marketing, SoC/IP Design, Verification, and Software teams for coherent integration.
  • Create and maintain high-quality architecture documentation and baselines.
  • Identify innovation opportunities in Timer and real-time orchestration.

Key responsibilities in your new role

  • Break down stakeholder and application requirements into architectural Timer requirements and interface specifications
  • Own platform-level Timer architecture, the required IP components and their evolution across MCU generations
  • Define deterministic timing concepts for real-time control loops (triggering, synchronization, latency/jitter budgets, fault reactions)
  • Drive architectural trade-offs between real-time performance, power, safety, and scalability based on simulations, prototyping and leveraging novel AI methods and tools
  • Ensure Power-Performance-Area competitiveness for the subsystem across the full product portfolio
  • Interface with Technical Marketing, SoC/IP Design, Verification, and Software teams to ensure coherent system integration
  • Create and maintain high-quality architecture documentation and requirement baselines
  • Proactively identify innovation opportunities in Timer and real-time orchestration aligned with platform strategy
Your profile

Qualifications and skills to help you succeed

  • Master's degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Control Engineering, or related field
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor or automotive MCU/SoC architecture with hands on design experience
  • Strong expertise in Timer architecture and deterministic real-time system design
  • Proven experience translating use-case/system needs into architectural requirements and KPIs
  • Solid understanding of closed-loop control constraints (timing determinism, synchronization, latency/jitter control) ideally paired with simulation know how
  • Familiarity with ISO 26262 and functional safety concepts in architecture design (is a plus)
  • Team player with openness for innovation
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills in international, cross-functional teams
  • Fluent English skills, written and spoken
