Zusammenfassung

g2 Recruitment is seeking an experienced Lead Estimator to join a flagship data centre project in Frankfurt. The successful candidate will build and lead a team of estimators, working closely with the Country Director to shape bid strategy and ensure competitive, accurate cost plans.

You will analyse drawings, prepare BOQs, benchmark costs across Germany, and manage supplier inquiries across local and international supply chains.

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years’ experience in estimating or commercial roles within construction.
• Experience on data centre / mission-critical / large-scale industrial projects.
• Proven track record in managing bids valued at €100m+.
• Strong knowledge of European construction markets (German preferred).

Our client are looking for an experienced Lead Estimator to join their flagship data center project in Frankfurt. The chosen candidate will have the opportunity to build out a team underneath them and work closely with the Country Director.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates across all project stages (concept, design, tender, and value engineering)
• Analyse drawings, specifications, and project documentation to produce accurate BOQs and cost plans
• Develop and maintain benchmark cost data for data centre projects across Germany
• Identify cost risks, opportunities, and value engineering options
• Ensure estimates reflect current market conditions, labour availability, and supply chain constraints

Project & Stakeholder Management:

• Collaborate with design teams, engineers, and project managers to align cost and design solutions
• Interface with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders to present and justify estimates
• Lead cost review meetings and contribute to bid strategy discussions
• Support contract negotiations and handover to the delivery/commercial team

Supply Chain & Procurement:

• Manage subcontractor and supplier enquiries, ensuring competitive pricing and quality submissions
• Build and maintain a reliable local and international supply chain
• Evaluate quotations and ensure compliance with project scope and technical requirements

Leadership & Team Management:

• Lead and mentor a team of estimators and quantity surveyors
• Set clear deliverables, timelines, and standards across the estimating function
• Drive best practice in cost planning, reporting, and commercial strategy

Key Requirements:

• 5 + years’ experience in estimating or commercial roles within construction
• Demonstrable experience working on data centre / mission-critical / large-scale industrial projects
• Experience managing bids for projects typically valued at €100m+
• Strong knowledge of European (preferably German) construction markets
