Tanso Technologies GmbH is seeking a Lead Engineer to steer one engineering pod and own a core module of our platform. You will lead 2-4 engineers, ship code end-to-end, and shape technical decisions alongside the Product Manager.

Expect hands-on development, architecture work, and mentoring, in a fast-moving B2B SaaS environment. Strong backend or infra experience and excellent English are essential; German is a plus.

Your role

We're looking for aLead Engineer (f/m/x) to lead one of our engineering pods and take ownership of a core module of our platform. As a Lead Engineer, you will lead a pod of 2-4 engineers and take end to end ownership of the modules your team is responsible for. Most of your time will be spent hands‑on: shipping code and architecting larger features. Beyond the code, you'll partner closely with your Product Manager to clarify product requirements, remove obstacles, and guide technical decisions, while also shaping our broader technical capabilities and engineering culture. Our engineering culture combines high velocity (5-10 production deployments per day from our TypeScript monorepo) with true enterprise scale: hundreds of millions of rows in Postgres, and calculations certified against e.g. ISO 14064. Balancing speed with that level of rigor is one of the core challenges of this role.

Key responsibilities

• Take full technical ownership of the modules your pod is responsible for.

• Partner closely our product managers to challenge requirements and simplify solutions, maximizing the impact your pod generates for our customers.
• Mentor and lead the engineers in your pod by example, supporting their professional development.
• Contribute to and help shape company-wide technical standards that enable engineers to consistently deliver high-quality work.
• Make pragmatic technical and operational decisions, providing clear direction even in situations of uncertainty.

Your profile

• Strong builder mindset.
• Strong backend or infrastructure engineering experience, ideally in fast moving B2B SaaS startups.
• At least 4–5 years of experience with web technologies using JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Excellent English communication skills, with clear and structured communication.
• Ability to motivate, support and lead other engineers.
