Jobbeschreibung

The Director of Assessment and Accreditation will assist the Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness by providing administrative leadership for all assessment efforts on campus, as well as coordinate continued compliance with SACSCOC principles and policies.

Primary duties will include, but are not limited to :

Accreditation and Assessment activities - including managing the College’s assessment of student and program learning outcomes process, by :

  • Reviewing and reaffirming student leaning outcomes, curriculum maps, and 5-Year Plan for Associate of Science degree programs
  • Improving the College’s assessment processes and procedures
  • Promoting the use of assessment results to improve teaching and learning
  • Establishing working and open communication relationships with key stakeholders from all AA / AS areas on campus to continue the dialogue of assessment and accreditation
  • Integrating technical resources to increase the efficiency of the evaluation, planning, and assessment process

Accreditation and Planning activities - including

  • Assisting the College’s efforts to address recommendations from the Fifth-Year Review Committee
  • Providing support for submitting substantive changes to SACSCOC such as teach-out, new programs etc.
  • Improving the College’s substantive change processes and procedures

Educational Research support and implementation activities– including

  • Leading and engaging in various tasks related to educational research processes to help support the institutional effectiveness office better serve faculty and staff.
  • Producing evaluation studies for the institution as a whole and for units of the college
  • Analyzing survey data and writing reports
  • Improving the College’s IRB processes and procedures
  • Supporting research-based grant applications
  • Leading relevant research studies for publications and dissemination in appropriate forums

Official OIE Communication and Media Maintenance - including

  • Designing content reflective of OIE support services for the assessment, accreditation, and educational research areas
  • Updating and maintaining the SACSCOC information of the official OIE website
  • Managing the assessment and accreditation websites
  • Updating the Educational Research website on the OIE webpage

Manage national and campus surveys - including

  • Design, develop, and validate survey instruments.
  • Oversee and coordinate survey administration and other assessment activities campus-wide.

Other duties as assigned – including

  • the ability to offer leadership and engage in various projects
  • to apply knowledge from different disciplines to project tasks and make decisions to move projects forward
  • complete various other duties related to the effectiveness of the office as assigned
  • keeping the campus informed of current assessment applications.

MINIMUM TRAINING / EXPERIENCE : A master’s degree in Higher Education, Educational Research, Educational Leadership, or a related field and three years related experience in academic assessment, program evaluation and / or outcomes assessment. The doctorate degree is preferred, as well as experience in SACSCOC accreditation.

SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL DEMONSTRATE THE FOLLOWING : Knowledge of principles of research design. Knowledge of statistics and methods of statistical analysis. Skill in operating personal computer software : word processing, data bases, spreadsheets. Skill in using statistical analysis programs such as SAS and SPSS. Ability to design and conduct educational research projects. Ability to conduct statistical analysis. Ability to design, develop and validate research tools and instruments. Ability to analyze, interpret and disseminate institutional effectiveness data. Ability to carry out planning and evaluation activities in the context of education. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to work independently and maintain good working relationships with faculty and staff.
