Responsibilities

In this non‑supervisory Director‑level position, you will assume a highly visible and large‑impact role. You will lead discussions and engage in strategic negotiations on high‑value rebate contracts for Commercial, Health Exchange and Managed Medicaid segments. This includes managing the business relationship with pharmaceutical manufacturers and contracting for discounts on branded pharmaceutical products. You will work with cross‑functional teams across the organization and partner on high‑profile negotiation strategies.

Additional Account Management Duties
  • Work closely with the Executive Director and Vice President of Trade Relations in negotiation strategies with market access functions of branded pharmaceutical manufacturers.
  • Lead discussions and negotiations for rebates for branded pharmaceuticals where CVS Caremark is the PBM, providing input and recommendations for formulary strategies and positioning, and negotiating contracts that support those strategies.
  • Develop and foster strong relationships with direct manufacturers and industry partners.
  • Coordinate with other key leaders that have responsibility for pharmacy benefit strategies to create synergies and value.
  • Work directly with pharmaceutical manufacturers and provide relationship management on rebate issues for assigned segments.
  • Be accountable for rebate contracting with assigned manufacturers.
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of professional related experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in managed care, which may include PBM, Pharma, market access, account management, specialty pharmacy or health plan.
  • Ability to travel 10‑20% as necessary, per business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA, PharmD.
  • 8+ years of experience negotiating contracts in the healthcare or PBM space.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of pharmaceutical rebates, purchasing and prescription benefit designs.
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical pricing and reporting of pharmaceutical products.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree required; equivalent work experience will be considered.
Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:
$100,000.00 - $231,540.00. This represents the base hourly rate or base annual full‑time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short‑term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
