The opportunity

As a senior developer, you will work alongside a team of international experts in technology, business, and the healthcare industry. The end-to-end development and implementation of mobile apps is at the core of the DHEC, with you we want to further strengthen our technical expertise.

Your key responsibilities

As a senior developer, you are responsible for the development and implementation of innovative mobile software solutions for our healthcare clients. In your role, you will collaborate with clinical teams, administrators, and other healthcare professionals to prioritize and address health-specific software needs.

As a technical expert, you will work with the development team to create customer journeys and user stories, coordinate with UI/UX designers, and collaborate with software architects to implement client-specific functionality. You will also oversee near- and off-shore technical teams, vendors, and external partners to ensure product quality and consistency, as well as provide training and support in business development.

Skills and attributes for success

• Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, client service, and technical writing skills for both technical and business audiences.
• Fluency in English and German is required (at least B2 level).
• Knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work under tight timelines on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Flexibility to travel.

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Bachelor’s degree in informatics, Mathematics, (Software) Engineering, or a related field with a strong IT focus. Master’s or additional certifications are advantageous.
• At least 2 years of experience in a healthcare context, focusing on custom mobile application development.
• Deep understanding of iOS and Android development using Swift, SwiftUI, Kotlin, and Jetpack Compose. Basic understanding of both OSs is required.
• Expertise in software architecture across all levels, including network, infrastructure, security, persistence, application, and frontend.
• Proven experience leading international development teams and managing diverse stakeholder groups, including project managers, Scrum masters, product owners, business analysts, developers, and security architects.
• Knowledge of programming patterns (MVC, MVVM), tools, and frameworks (Declarative UI, Angular, Xamarin, React).

Ideally, you’ll also have

• A strong network in the healthcare industry and a track record in consulting.
• Awareness of industry technology trends and emerging technologies, with the ability to apply them to healthcare projects.
• Understanding of health-specific interoperability standards like HL7/FHIR, SNOMED, OMOP, openEHR.
• Experience with system integration within medical landscapes, including EMR, CIS, CDR, LIMS, and interoperability platforms.
