Responsibilities
Where You'll Make an Impact:
- Prepare and cook dishes according to recipes or instructions provided.
- Train new hires and instruct staff on proper cooking techniques and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with the Sous Chef or Chef D’Cuisine to ensure the overall success of the kitchen and restaurant.
- Ensure stations are prepared to meet anticipated business levels, assisting fellow staff when needed.
- Validate all stations (including Prep).
- Perform daily cleaning duties following sanitation guidelines efficiently.
- Handle high-volume cooking and plating while maintaining consistent quality in a fast-paced environment.
- Follow safety procedures to ensure employee safety.
- Work under supervision of culinary management.
- Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
- Occasionally interact directly with guests.
- Adhere to company and department appearance standards.
- Demonstrate professionalism reflecting our brand and values.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Skills to Help You Succeed:
- Use all kitchen equipment and appliances proficiently.
- Read and write basic instructions; knowledge of PPE.
- Be creative with cooking and food preparation.
- Read and interpret production lists, menus, and banquet event orders.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Know sanitation and health department regulations for safe food handling.
Qualifications
Must-Haves:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Culinary arts courses or equivalent experience.
- Five+ years of continuous experience as a restaurant line cook.
- Ability to secure and maintain required licensure as per MSLA or other regulatory entities.
Physical Requirements:
- Stand for long periods without sitting or leaning.
- Bend, stoop, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Work around high-temperature ovens and cold walk-in refrigerators.
- Stand and walk throughout a 10-hour shift.
