What you will do

As a Lead Cloud & Data Engineer you will be at the heart of our product development, taking full ownership of our multi-cloud infrastructure and backend services. Working within a self-organized agile team you will build and deploy IQA, the Production Excellence Software that drives our customers’ success. Together with the development team you will:

  • Design, build and scale our multi-cloud infrastructure, developing, deploying and monitoring container-based services using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and serving large-scale Fortune 500 enterprises
  • Architect and own our core customer data processing framework powering data integration and enabling new users to onboard at record speed
  • Develop and optimize high-performance APIs and manufacturing data processing pipelines directly enhancing the frameworks that power our AI products
  • Shape the future of our product by co-defining and implementing new features and technical strategies
  • Champion innovation by researching new technologies and driving knowledge sharing across the team
What we expect from you
  • A genuine interest in industrial production systems and our mission to revolutionize manufacturing through a B2B SaaS product.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and the ambition to take an active role in building a fast-growing startup
  • Extensive experience in cloud architecture and infrastructure, particularly with Kubernetes, major providers (GCP, Azure, AWS) and IaC frameworks (Terraform / OpenTofu / Pulumi and similar).
  • Deep expertise in Python, including data processing libraries (Polars, Arrow, DataFusion and similar) and API development (e.g. FastAPI). Experience with languages such as TypeScript / React or Rust is a bonus but not required
  • Proven ability in data engineering, including data transformation, storage solutions (object storage, OLTP / OLAP / Cache databases) and pipeline orchestration (e.g. Dagster, Prefect, Airflow).
  • A strong sense of ownership and excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently and drive projects forward.
  • 7 years of experience in software engineering, cloud infrastructure, backend development or a similar role.
  • Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Willingness to travel to our Cologne office occasionally for in-person workshops and team events.
What we offer
  • We work differently - we highly value transparency, integrity and authenticity. We trust and respect each other which leads to a very collaborative working environment where everyone can contribute ideas and decisions are made based on competency.
  • We are agile and fast-paced; you will have the opportunity to take on as much responsibility as you want and push your personal and our progress beyond your job description.
  • We truly care about work culture and make it a priority by reflecting on our teamwork, committing time to keep our team spirit, and incorporating activities to create balance.
  • We embrace diversity with team members from nine nationalities and 40% female representation (with a clear ambition to reach 50%), including a female CEO among the founders.
  • We contribute to fighting climate change by helping our industrial manufacturing customers reduce carbon emissions with our products, and by being carbon neutral as a company.
  • All other benefits that make work more pleasant: flexible hours, part-time options, possibility to work remotely, regular team events and offsites, 30 days PTO, weekly yoga sessions, etc.
