Summary
The Land Sales Associate is responsible for working with Sales Support to review and prepare target sales locations, prepare lease agreements, and negotiate and close land agreements with landowners.
Job Responsibilities
- Work with Sales Support to review and prepare target sales locations that are in Maine target territories.
- These territories are prioritized by substation capacity and permitting details.
- Prepare lease agreements for yourself and other land sales staff, serving as the final set of eyes to make sure land agreements are valid and able to be executed correctly.
- Prepare maps and other presentation materials for meetings with landowners.
- Negotiate and close land agreements with landowners, with either lease or purchase options.
- Travel as needed, in a company car, to complete this work.
- Serve as the lead operations person for mapping and updating Land Acquisition Process Map.
- Maintain and Update the Training Materials and Sales Packets.
- Schedule regular meetings to get the team to generate improvement ideas and incorporate ideas into the process, like monthly feedback sessions.
- Manage the handoff of a newly signed land site to Project Development (PD).
- Work with the PD Project Manager to ensure their team has the necessary information to start diligence and utility applications.
- Identify site layout information so PD can get utility IC drawings created.
- Oversee and work with Sales Support on land-related matters.
- Refine methods to reduce customer acquisition costs without sacrificing quality.
- Provide insight and suggestions to the NES team when appropriate.
- Communicate key metrics to the COO and to your sales manager.
- Have a basic understanding of all of NES’ offerings, so leads may be passed along to other departments within Novel.

Work Environment
This job generally operates in a professional remote office environment and will require frequent in-person meetings and/or travel to work sites. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.?The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at job sites, in which the noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.?

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This position occasionally requires long hours and weekend work.
Travel
Travel is primarily local and by automobile during the business day, although some projects may require more out-of-the-area and overnight travel.
Required Education/Qualifications
- Clean driving record
- 3-5 years combined experience in real estate and/or right of way
- Outside sales experience
- Excellent planning, organization, and communication skills
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Experience in renewable energy
