Job Summary
Installs and maintains computer systems or other infrastructure; provides technical support. Interprets and resolves software errors and develops software utilities. Performs systems analysis. Supports communication network. Installs, configures, manages, and troubleshoots the LAN communication equipment for networked facilities. Identifies and resolves technical, functional, and user problems.
Essential Functions
- Sets up, maintains and administers of LAN, desktop, and portable PCs, files & backs up server computer systems hardware, peripherals, software, Email, and User accounts
- Troubleshoots and resolves technical problems with both on-site and remote users interface as necessary with hardware/software vendors to resolve system configuration problems
- Acts as focal point for higher tiers of maintenance support, as necessary
- Acts as initial point of contact (POC) for LAN/WAN problems
- Maintains accurate site profiles(s) & record keeping system(s) of equipment inventory
- Maintains tape backup library and offsite storage
- Supports the implementation and enforcement of security procedures

Position Requirements
Knowledge Skills And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or related discipline plus 3 years recent specialized experience or, Associates Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Management, or related discipline plus 7 years recent specialized experience, or Major IT Certification plus 7 years recent specialized experience, or 11 years recent specialized experience.
- Information Assurance (IA) Technical Level II certification (SEI 264) or IAM Level I certification.
- Familiarity with TCP/IP and related applications. Experience in computer hardware technical support. Experience as systems administrator of Windows Servers. Good working knowledge/experience of Windows NT/2000 server & desktop OS, Windows XP Professional, and Office 2000 Professional. A desired, but not required, skill is experience with Mac OSX, Linux, or UNIX.
- Must demonstrate practical experience in the area(s) of expertise required in the Task Order, Performance Work Statement.
