  • Advise and coach HRBPs and HR generalists on routine labour and employee relations issues, including investigations, policy resolution, performance issues, disciplinary actions, and employee separations.
  • Manage complex cases by addressing root causes, developing actions, and concluding investigations with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Provide creative solutions to workplace challenges, driving consistency and collaboration using case management tools and continuous improvement practices.
  • Support change management, reorganizations, and restructurings, including consultation on redundancies and outsourcing.
  • Enhance HR compliance through training, process improvements, audits, and managing external counsel as needed.
  • Serve as the main interface between HR, management, and works councils at the German sites and the German Group Works Council.
  • Represent Leica Microsystems in global and corporate forums.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Law (Labour/Industrial relations), Human Resources, or related field; profound knowledge of German labour law and LER topics.
  • 10+ years of labour and employee relations experience managing complex issues such as investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
  • Proven experience in managing relationships with collective representation bodies and implementing business change, restructuring, and policy deployment.
  • Advanced skills in negotiating collective agreements and supporting HRBPs to ensure compliance.
  • Practical application of LER expertise, with a proactive, relationship-building approach in a matrix organization.
  • Excellent bilingual (German and English) communication and presentation skills with a professional presence.

Travel & Motor Vehicle Record:

  • Ability to travel.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Preferred additional experience includes:

  • Proactive decision-making based on facts, balancing benefits and risks, ensuring compliance, and driving holistic LER strategies.
  • Knowledge of Data Privacy/GDPR as it relates to collective bargaining and employee data management.
