You will join our R&D department and become an integral member of a cross-functional team, supporting our engineers in testing battery cells, running chemical analyses, maintaining equipment, and ensuring the general upkeep of the lab.

I'm Nebojša, and I'm the Team Lead of the Lab at VoltStorage GmbH, a Munich-based start-up with more than 70 employees. Founded in 2016 by Jakob, Michael, and Felix, VoltStorage's vision is to make renewable energy available 24/7 to enable a green, sustainable, and fair future. As experts in stationary flow batteries, we aim to cover all application areas of stationary battery storage systems with our multi-technological approach, contributing significantly to the energy transition.

Responsibilities

1. Conducting various tests to characterize and evaluate new battery materials (e.g., routine battery cell assembly, electrolyte preparation, chemical compatibility, electrochemical performance, etc.)
2. Calibrating, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting laboratory equipment, including electrochemical test stations
3. Collaborating with R&D colleagues in implementing tests and procedures
4. Ensuring compliance with good laboratory practices, documentation, and occupational safety
5. Assisting in preparing technical documentation and reports for internal use and regulatory compliance
6. Managing inventories of laboratory equipment, chemicals, and consumables

Minimum Qualifications

• Completed training as a laboratory assistant (e.g., chemistry / physics, CTA)
• Basic computer skills and proficiency in Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Good written and spoken English; German language skills are a plus
• Positive “can-do” attitude
• Good organizational skills
