Lab Manager (f/m/d) in the Environmental Geochemistry Laboratory
The Department of Applied Geochemistry is looking for a Lab Manager (f/m/d) in the Environmental Geochemistry Laboratory. We're looking for a motivated person from a technical or scientific background to join the new Applied Geochemistry lab and share our passion for experimental environmental geochemistry and interdisciplinary research.
Our group investigates key issues in applied geochemistry, with a focus on pollutant behaviour, groundwater protection, and element cycling. We specialize in investigating the behavior of inorganic pollutants and nutrients and their interactions with minerals. By integrating biogeochemical, mineralogical, and hydrogeochemical perspectives with cutting-edge analytical techniques, we connect fundamental research with innovative strategies for safeguarding natural resources.
As a laboratory manager, you will play a key role in the Applied Geochemistry Laboratory, overseeing its establishment, ongoing development, and seamless operation. A core analytical instrument in our laboratory will be a new LC-ICP-MS, used for quantifying elemental species at trace levels. The laboratory infrastructure also includes an IC, AAS, UV/VIS, XRD, TOC, SEM, and a Mössbauer spectrometer. Your responsibilities will also include:
