Redox One develops and markets iron-chromium flow batteries for the large-scale energy storage requirements of businesses and utilities. Engineered specifically for high-utilization applications that make low-carbon renewable energy sources reliable, our highly scalable flow battery solutions are setting new cost benchmarks for large-scale energy storage. From mine to megawatt we are covering the whole value chain of battery manufacturing.Redox One is a spin-off from Tharisa Plc., a European headquartered and integrated resource group. To speed up our product roll-out, we are looking for an experienced Lab Chemist / Chemical Lab Assistant to start at our European Technology Center in Dortmund, Germany.

Your Responsibilities

You will play a crucial role in our efforts to optimize and scale our iron-chromium flow battery technology. You will be part of an interdisciplinary team of engineers and researchers, which is dedicated towards the improvement of the battery system for our iron-chromium battery system. Your responsibilities will include :

• Conducting chemical and electrochemical tests to characterize and evaluate battery materials to improve performance (e.g. routine battery cell assembly and electrolyte preparation, chemical compatibility, electrochemical performance, etc.)
• Planning, implementation and evaluation of wet chemical and instrumental standard analyses according to the test plan (e.g. HPLC, GC, IC, titrations, viscosities, density).
• Preparing samples for analysis according to established protocols, ensuring accuracy and precision
• Calibrating, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting laboratory equipment, including electrochemical test stations, ensuring it is functioning properly and safety standards are met
• Documenting procedures and communicate findings effectively.
• Assisting in the preparation of technical documentation and reports for internal use and regulatory compliance
• Managing inventories of laboratory equipment, chemicals and consumables

Your Qualifications

• Trained lab chemist / chemical laboratory assistant (CTA, Chemielaborant
• 3+ years professional experience in flow battery, fuel cell, or electrolyzer development and manufacturing, with hands-on lab work.
• Familiar with electrochemical and analytical techniques (e.g. cyclic voltammetry, impedance spectroscopy, titrations, UV / VIS spectroscopy, HPLC, GC, IC etc.)
• Experience with lab-related software and Office programs (Word, Excel, Power Point)
• Comfortable handling chemicals and conducting tests safely.
• Good knowledge of German is a must
