The Kunsthalle München, formally known as the Kunsthalle der Hypo-Kulturstiftung, is supported by the Hypo-Kulturstiftung, a foundation established in 1983 by the former Hypotheken- und Wechselbank to mark the company's 150th anniversary. The Kunsthalle opened to the public two years later, on 14 June 1985. In 2001, it moved into its current premises in the "Fünf Öfe" complex in the heart of Munich, designed by the Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron, with around 1,200 m² of exhibition space equipped with state-of-the-art museum technology. With around 350,000 visitors every year, the Kunsthalle München ranks among Germany's most distinguished exhibition venues, presenting three major exhibitions annually that span painting, sculpture, works on paper, photography, media art, craft, design, and fashion, alternating monographic exhibitions with interdisciplinary thematic projects.
The Kunsthalle München is seeking interns (m/f/d) for its exhibition office, starting end of October / beginning of November 2026. The internship offers hands-on involvement across the exhibition office's areas of work, including responding to visitor enquiries, organizing guided tours and events, general administrative tasks, and gaining insight into the practical realization of an exhibition. Interns will support the curatorial team in conceiving and planning new projects, assist with the changeover between exhibitions, and gain exposure to other departments of the Kunsthalle, including press and public relations and the technical department.
