This role offers an exciting opportunity for a candidate with deep expertise in capital markets and EU listed company regulation to contribute to our Global Transactions practice and Knowledge function, working in an international, diverse, and inclusive environment.

Role summary/purpose of job

The Knowledge Lawyer will focus on capital markets (debt and/or equity) and EU listed company regulation, supporting practitioners across the global practice, mainly within the EU. The role involves monitoring EU regulatory developments, providing insights, and translating these into client and internal initiatives.

The candidate will bring deep expertise and a willingness to develop further, with objectives including:

• Enabling the firm to provide market-leading client service: sharing insights, developing knowledge products, and supporting innovation.
• Helping grow the firm’s business: raising profile, developing client content, and contributing to publications.
• Developing legal skills: training and mentoring lawyers in this area.

Collaboration with other Knowledge Lawyers and colleagues across practice areas and regions is essential, as is engagement with local EU offices.

Key responsibilities

Enabling client service

• Monitor legal and regulatory developments and disseminate to lawyers.
• Create and update internal knowledge products.
• Identify priority areas and develop house views.
• Capture and share insights from client mandates.
• Encourage collaboration and innovation within the team.

Growing the business and client relationships

• Stay updated on EU regulation developments and identify business opportunities.
• Create client-facing content and contribute to thought leadership.
• Participate in client training and industry groups.

Developing legal skills

• Act as an internal advisor on EU capital markets law.
• Design and deliver relevant training sessions.

International and wider role

• Share information and connect with international colleagues.
• Build relationships within the Knowledge team and practice.

Key requirements

Experience and qualifications

• Qualified lawyer in a relevant EU jurisdiction with a strong academic background.
• Successful experience in capital markets (equity and/or debt) and corporate listings within the EU, either as a fee earner or knowledge professional.
