Key Account Manager Automotive (m/f/d) – Performance Polymers

Within the Group, our Performance Polymers business has dedicated R&D, sales and technical support centres to offer a broad portfolio of product technologies. By working closely with customers, our teams are able to provide materials that best meet their needs. 60% of our business is in the automotive sector, 30% in construction and 10% in other industries.

About the role:

Please kindly note that we welcome applications from Germany (Düsseldorf), Poland (Sochaczew) and France (Tiffauges), as the role can be carried out from all three locations named.

As part of our EMEA Sales team, we are currently looking for a Key Account Manager Automotive. The team is made up of more than 20 people across Europe, reporting to the EMEA Sales Director for the Performance Polymers Division. Next to being responsible for managing customer accounts, driving business growth, and ensuring customer satisfaction, the person will oversee profitability, implement new strategies and handle the budget processes.

Your Responsibilities:

  • You take responsibility for managing and strategically developing relationships with major car manufacturers
  • Implementing new product strategies for your area of responsibility by aligning with the market needs and opportunities describes one of your activities
  • You contribute actively to business growth by generating unique sales plans and analyzing budgets as well as scheduling upcoming expenditures
  • Offering technical support to potential and existing customers is one of your tasks
  • You lead development projects in close collaboration with the R&D department, coordinating an interdisciplinary team to achieve shared objectives
  • You gather, investigate, and summarize market data and trends to draft reports

Your Qualifications and Skills:

  • You have a scientific degree and several years of experience in the automotive industry in roles with a strong technical dimension
  • You have good interpersonal skills; you are open-minded and a team player
  • Good English language skills, both orally and written, set you apart and any other European language is a plus
  • You have a good command of IT (Microsoft Office, SAP)
  • Your time and resource management are very high, and you have an independent way of working
