Your Impact

As a Junior Recruiter, you will be based in Cologne as part of our German Campus Recruiting Team. The recruitment of highly qualified consultants is a key success factor for McKinsey & Company. Our recruiting team is dedicated to identifying, inspiring, and selecting exceptional candidates within a dynamic international environment to create an exceptional professional environment for exceptional people.
From the very beginning, you will assume responsibility for an independent portfolio of tasks. You are the first contact person for applicants and represent McKinsey in the job market for high potentials.
Outside of your interaction with candidates, you will gather and analyze data along the recruitment funnel to draw insights for key stakeholders and incorporate the results into the further development of your work area. As your experience grows, so does your responsibility, and you will take on increasingly challenging activities.

Your qualifications and skills

  • A completed university degree in a relevant field (e.g. in the field of business administration or psychology), preferably with a focus on quantitative subjects.
  • Initial experience in the HR environment, preferably in recruiting or HR controlling, gained during internships, as a working student or in a full-time role.
  • Ability to conduct Excel analysis and modelling, preferably with additional knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL, or VBA).
  • Proficient in rational decision making based on data, facts, and logical reasoning.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in German and English, with the ability to adjust your style to suit different perspectives and seniority levels.
  • Excellent organization capabilities, including the ability to initiate tasks independently and see them through to completion.
  • Exceptional time management to meet your responsibilities in a complex and largely autonomous work environment.
  • Ability to travel to lead local recruiting activities in Germany and abroad.
