As a Junior Production Manager, you will support and oversee a production team focused on Assembly, Integration & Test (AIT) and Metrology within optics manufacturing. Your role is crucial in ensuring operational excellence, timely delivery, and high-quality standards.

Your responsibilities include:

1. Supporting and coordinating production processes in your area, emphasizing AIT and metrology.
2. Leading daily team activities, including scheduling, workflow management, and task assignments.
3. Participating in metrics reviews and identifying areas for improvement as part of continuous improvement initiatives.
4. Managing and developing a small team, with plans to scale operations as the company grows.
5. Owning team performance, training, development, and fostering a collaborative, high-performance environment.
6. Maintaining a safe and professional work environment by implementing 5S, Six Sigma, and health and safety standards.
7. Demonstrating leadership by working beyond standard hours when necessary to meet operational goals.

What you bring with you

1. 2–4 years of experience in industrial manufacturing, preferably in serial or mass production.
2. Passion for leading teams and progressing into larger managerial roles.
3. Willingness to learn about optics manufacturing and laser communications; prior optics experience is a plus but not required.
4. Understanding of lean manufacturing and process optimization.
5. Strong critical thinking and proactive mindset to challenge the status quo while ensuring quality and process compliance.
6. Ability to motivate, coach, and develop team members in a dynamic environment.
7. Proficiency in MS Office, ERP/MRP/SAP/MES systems, and ability to learn custom production tools.
8. Excellent English communication skills; German language skills are a plus.
