Das DFN-Verein sucht einen Junior Network Technician für die Unterstützung und Weiterentwicklung seines wissenschaftlichen Netzwerks. Sie werden aktiv an der Implementierung innovativer Technologien beteiligt sein und dabei helfen, Netzwerklösungen für Universitäten und Forschungseinrichtungen bereitzustellen. In Berlin oder Stuttgart erwartet Sie ein interessantes und abwechslungsreiches Arbeitsumfeld mit flexiblen Arbeitszeiten und der Möglichkeit von mobilem Arbeiten.

Qualifikationen

• Berufsausbildung oder Abschluss im technischen oder wissenschaftlichen Bereich.
• Wissen und Erfahrung in Routing und Switching oder optischen Transportnetzen.
• Gute Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse.

Aufgaben

• Betrieb und Weiterentwicklung der IP-Router-Plattform.
• Unterstützung von Universitäten und Forschungseinrichtungen in Bezug auf Netzwerkanwendungen.
• Koordination mit internen und externen Dienstleistern.

In your hands :

• Operation and further development of the IP router platform (Nokia 7750 service router and Cisco NCS5700) and the DWDM platform (Ribbon)
• Support for universities and research institutions in relation to the network services of DFN-Verein
• Coordination and cooperation with internal and external service providers
• Maintenance of network and service documentation
• Participation in the on-call service (2nd line)

Ideally, you bring this with you :

• Vocational training or a degree in a technical or scientific field
• field or a comparable qualification
• Knowledge and experience in the areas of routing and switching or optical transport networks
• Very good German and good English skills
