• First experience in mechanical design for data centres is a plus.
• Knowledge of German codes and standards is desirable.

The Opportunity

Join our international and multidisciplinary team of passionate design engineers and help us create high-quality, sustainable, and innovative data centre structures. You will work on medium to large-scale mission-critical projects, covering all stages of design — from concept to construction supervision and handover.

As a Junior Mechanical Engineer - Data Centre at Arup, you will:

• Support the design of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for medium to large-scale data centre projects.
• Support the development of innovative and sustainable solutions that address the unique challenges of data centre design.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including architects, engineers, clients, and authorities.

Does this role inspire you?

We are looking for someone passionate about sustainable data centre design and who possesses:

• A university degree in Mechanical Engineering (HVAC/Plumbing/Fire Protection) or equivalent.
• Ideally, some first experience in mechanical design for data centres or related facilities.
• Ideally, first Knowledge of relevant German codes and standards.
• Proficiency in 3D BIM software, preferably Revit MEP.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken. German language skills are a plus.
