The Role

Position Summary/Objective:

The Jr. Key Account Manager is responsible for the development and growth of sales of the Riverside brands within all sales channels and accounts. The role combines field sales and corporate sales activities. The Account Manager will build and maintain relationships with customers in primarily retail-, but also foodservice-, natural food- and out-of-home channels, manage field sales activities, support sales initiatives, develop and implement business account plans.

Reporting Relationship:

The Jr. Key Account Manager reports to the Sales Director Europe in the Riverside International BV office in Hoofddorp, the Netherlands and will work mostly from his/her home office.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate and uphold Riverside’s core values
  • Driving sales growth for Riverside brands
  • Understand and communicate Riverside brand messages to existing and future accounts
  • Work as a TEAM to establish trust and confidence with prospective customers, building advocacy, networking within an organization
  • Take OWNERSHIP to develop plans and strategies to meet or exceed the company’s revenue target
  • Devise, implement, and modify as needed specific sales strategy that aligns with company goals
  • Monitor competitive and market activity and provide feedback and recommendations to the executive team
  • Compile and review quantitative sales data and react rapidly to changing trends or new competitive threats and opportunities
  • Place new products/brands
  • Assist in effectively managing trade spend
  • Ongoing promotional planning
  • Develop and maintain sales forecasting
  • Attend key trade shows
  • Keeps the work atmosphere FUN by keeping it light and welcoming
  • Travel required 50%+
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Education and Qualifications:

  • University or HBO degree in Sales, Marketing or a related field
  • 3+ years of progressive sales experience in supermarket / organic / health food / foodservice industry
  • Proven ability to build and maintain productive relationships with key business partners
  • Proven history of identifying new customers and successfully closing the sale
  • Proven ability to make decisions based on a mixture of information, analysis, experience and judgement
