Type of Contract: Fixed-term for 2 years

Description Of Role

Installation, configuration, backup, providing technical assistance and troubleshooting of Windows Operating System(s), application software, network devices under responsibility while ensuring continuity of business for all stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide first line support on PCs, laptops and printers to internal users
  • Installation & configuration of internal systems:
    • Windows workstations including network configuration,
    • MS Office 365 with Outlook,
    • Antivirus software on endpoints,
    • Configure network printers,
  • Diagnose/troubleshoot technical issues for PCs, laptops and printers
  • Upgrade PCs, laptops, and update OSs
  • Assist Systems Administrators / Engineers in:
    • Managing Windows AD servers, SharePoint & Exchange mail server,
    • Ensuring regular antivirus signature updates for all endpoints,
    • Running Windows Updates and Applying security patches on workstations,
    • Following licenses and renewals of Windows, Office 365, and antivirus software
  • Purchasing IT equipment and necessary software,
  • Contacting potential suppliers,
  • Conducting Proof of Concepts where applicable,
  • Comparing several POC products and recommending the best solutions,
    • Ensuring data backups of:
      • Office 365,
      • Windows servers,
      • CCTV & Access control systems,
  • System & LAN security. Ensure:
    • Apply recommended ISO27001 mitigating controls,
    • Bit-locker disk encryption,
    • Ensure regular updates on antivirus software and perform scans on PCs/laptops,
    • Configure and monitor WIFI access points for endpoints,
  • Follow up on change requests.
  • Maintain inventory & keep track of all IT assets under responsibility using inhouse software.
  • Participate in scraping & dispose of old/unused IT equipment
  • Train users and set up their accounts
  • Monitor the performance of software and hardware.
  • Ensure a malware free environment.
  • Learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Create technical documentations & ability to prepare simple reports.
  • Attend to issues as raised by users.
  • Any other cognate duties assigned by Seniors or Head of Department

Candidate Profile

  • Certificate in IT with any IT-Technician certifications
  • At least 2 years relevant working experience
  • Ability to work outside of normal hours and attend urgent issues whenever required.
  • Email writing and reporting skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to translate technical jargons into simple terms.
