The IT Cost Controlling Team at ABOUT YOU Tech is dedicated to optimizing our IT costs. This role involves technical project management, and collaboration with company leadership and technical leads to manage IT investment strategies, negotiate software agreements, and identify and implement opportunities for cost optimization.

We are seeking a Junior IT Cost Project Manager to join our team, focusing on managing cost-related IT projects, including cloud services like AWS. This entry-level position is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their skills in IT cost management, negotiation, and project management.

What you will do

Assist in managing tech projects, focusing on IT cost savings, vendor negotiations, and contract management.

• Support collaborations with IT project managers, controllers, and technical leads to optimize IT expenses.
• Participate in contract management processes, from planning and negotiation to monitoring and evaluation.
• Help prepare cost and KPI reports, working closely with stakeholders.
• Contribute to budget planning and management for IT vendor and hosting costs.
• Gain exposure to a variety of projects and technologies, including AWS and Datadog, under the guidance of experienced team members.
• Communicate effectively with the management team and technical leads, offering insights and solutions to project-related challenges.
• Assist in evaluating new software and negotiating with vendors.

Who you are

New graduates or individuals with first experience in a related field ideally up to 2 year expierence in project management in the IT field.

• Being technically savvy is beneficial. This skill enhances problem-solving capabilities and supports effective communication with technical teams.
• A basic financial understanding, preferably with exposure to finance-related university courses. This role is ideal for those keen to apply academic knowledge to practical scenarios and further develop their financial management skills in the IT sector.
• An eagerness to learn negotiation and contract management skills.
• Interest in developing project management skills using agile methodologies.
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
• A proactive attitude and a willingness to tackle problems creatively.

Nice to have

• Experience in IT consulting, including practical exposure gained through roles such as a student consultant.
• An analytical mindset, beneficial for assessing situations, identifying patterns, and devising effective solutions.
• A foundational understanding of cloud services and a keen interest in learning more about AWS and its components.

Additional Information

**Working model:

Due to the upcoming tasks and responsibilities for this position, it is required to work onsite at our headquarters in Hamburg on a weekly basis. Therefore we’ve implemented a hybrid working model that allows us to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays and to work onsite from Tuesday to Thursday.
