(Junior) GL Accountant
Department: Finance, Legal, HR & Audit | Experience Level: Experienced | Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (HGB and IAS/IFRS)
- Determination, reconciliation, and posting of prepaid expenses and accruals as well as other items of the general ledger
- Monthly reconciliation of various general ledger accounts
- Checking posting proposal lists of parked incoming invoices and payment proposal lists for compliance with guidelines
- Handling VAT returns & refunds, and statistics for German government
- Being the contact person for questions related to accounting according to HGB and IAS/IFRS
- Preparing the advance sales tax return
- Preparing account reconciliations and integrity checks
- Maintaining Accounting Manuals & CoA descriptions & the correct use thereof
- Creating statistics and evaluations
- Participating in cross-departmental projects
- Supporting the Senior Manager of Accounting
Qualifications:
- Degree in business administration with a focus on accounting and/or commercial education with further training as an accountant (IHK), ideally as an international accountant (IHK)
- Several years of professional experience in the field
- Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations according to HGB and IAS/IFRS
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel
- Proficient in SAP/S4 Hana
- Very good written and spoken German and English skills
