Junior (or) General Ledger Accountant
Department: Finance, Legal, HR & Audit | Experience Level: Experienced | Type: Permanent | Employment: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (HGB and IAS / IFRS).
- Determination, reconciliation, and posting of prepaid expenses and accruals, along with other items of the general ledger.
- Monthly reconciliation of various general ledger accounts.
- Checking posting proposal lists of parked incoming invoices and payment proposal lists for compliance with guidelines.
- Handling VAT returns & refunds, and preparing statistics for the German government.
- Serving as a contact person for accounting questions related to HGB and IAS / IFRS.
- Preparing advance sales tax returns.
- Creating account reconciliations and conducting integrity checks.
- Maintaining Accounting Manuals & CoA descriptions and ensuring correct usage.
- Creating statistics and evaluations.
- Participating in cross-departmental projects.
- Supporting the Senior Manager of Accounting.
Qualifications:
- Degree in business administration with a focus on accounting and/or commercial education with further training as an accountant (IHK), ideally as an international accountant (IHK).
- Several years of professional experience in the described field.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations according to HGB and IAS / IFRS.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent knowledge of SAP / S4 Hana.
- Very good written and spoken German and English skills.
