Job Responsibilities

1. Innovate and implement new designs for refractory linings.
2. Utilize 3D CAD software and basic thermodynamics principles.
3. Ensure compliance with internal specifications and external standards, including codes and regulations applicable to reformers, reactors, or heat exchangers.
4. Coordinate across disciplines.
5. Engage with vendors through inquiries and technical negotiations.
6. Conduct inspections at workshops.
7. Oversee governance during the installation of refractory linings at customer sites.

Candidate Profile

• Strong solution-oriented mindset.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Basic Knowledge Required

• Fundamentals of heat transfer.
• Material selection criteria for refractory linings in syngas production units.
• Quality assurance during manufacturing and onsite assembly.
• Experience in 3D CAD design, preferably with SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of general applicable codes such as ASME (I, V, VIII Div 1 and 2, IX), API, DIN/EN/ISO, PED.
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally.

Position Overview

The (Junior) Engineer for Fired Equipment/Refractory Expert is part of an international team responsible for designing, developing, manufacturing, and overseeing the installation of fireproof components for proprietary equipment by Lurgi Technologies. This role involves working with patented solutions like Air Liquide’s ATR, POx, and Sulfur Recovery Units, serving as a key contributor to ensuring optimal equipment performance and shaping future innovations. Collaborating closely with various technical teams, R&D centers, and external partners, you will support Air Liquide’s leadership in the hydrogen economy and CO2 footprint reduction initiatives.
