Job summary

HSH Chemie GmbH in Hamburg invites a (Junior) Compliance Manager (f/m/d) to help build and oversee our group-wide compliance program across Europe. You will contribute to policy development, risk assessments, and audits, collaborating with regulators, lawyers, and internal teams.

The role requires a degree in compliance, risk management or commercial law and at least two years of relevant experience, with fluent English and German.

Responsibilities

• Develop group-wide policies, procedures and training; guide local teams in adaption.
• Support preparation and conduction of external and internal audits (ISO, NIS2).
• Track regulatory changes and conduct regular compliance risk assessments.

Your responsibilities

• You support in the development, implementation and monitoring of a compliance program for our whole HSH Chemie Group as well as in the adaption of such based on local requirements
• This includes the following topics: Local and EU-wide trading regulations, commercial contracts and laws, sanction checks, taxonomy, anti-trust, anti-money laundering (AML), cyber security, due diligence (DD), health and safety, know your customer (KYC), (supplier) code of conduct, procurement incl. insurances, risk assessment, whistleblowing and related employee trainings
• Therefore, you are collaborating closely with our group-wide compliance colleagues as well as external stakeholders (such as regulatory authorities, lawyers, auditors, insurers, financial institutions) and internal stakeholders (e.g., Sales, HR, IT, Finance/Accounting)
• You develop group-wide compliance policies, procedures, practices as well as related training (digital and in person) and guide our international compliance colleagues in their local adaption and implementation
• Furthermore, you support in the preparation and conduction of external as well as internal audits (e.g., ISO, NIS2)
• To ensure that we live up to our high standards in the long term, you keep track of regulatory changes and regularly conduct compliance risk assessments

Your profile

• You successfully finished your studies with a focus on compliance, risk management or (commercial) law and gained at least 2 years of experience related to this job
• You gained a profound understanding of commercial laws and regulations - preferably from previous experience in a production or trading company (e.g., in the chemical industry)
• Furthermore, you possess strong analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and deadlines without losing track of the bigger picture
• You demonstrate a proactive, structured, pragmatic, and reliable approach taking initiative and responsibility
• Based on your outgoing personality you feel comfortable approaching our international colleagues and managers
• Your interest in chemical raw materials and distribution make your start with us even smoother
• Additionally, your target group-oriented communication style and fluency in English as well as German language (written and spoken) convince us
