Overview

Purpose of your Job
As a Junior Business Controller, you will support Coriolis’ financial planning, reporting, and analysis activities, ensuring accurate and timely insights that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. In this role, you will work closely with the Senior Business Controller and cross-functional teams, contributing to budgets and forecasts, monitoring key performance indicators, and helping improve project profitability.

You will play a key role in optimizing financial processes, maintaining data integrity, and supporting the continuous improvement of our business operations.

Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.
  • Help track key performance indicators (KPIs) and highlight variances.
  • Contribute to project cost reviews, margin analysis, and profitability assessments.

Reporting & Insights

  • Support the preparation of management reports and presentations for internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain and update financial models, dashboards, and databases.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis to support decision-making.

Process Optimization & Controls

  • Assist in improving financial processes and ensuring data accuracy.
  • Support compliance monitoring and internal audit preparation.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with teams such as R&D, Operations, and HR to gather financial data and understand business drivers.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects to improve cost efficiency and resource allocation.

Additional Tasks

  • Support the integration of new tools and systems (e.g., ERP upgrades, BI tools).
  • Assist in preparing business cases and investment proposals.
  • Contribute to sustainability and ESG-related financial reporting.
  • Participate in workshops and training sessions to enhance financial literacy across the organization.
What you need to succeed
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree or professional certifications (CPA, CMA) are a plus
  • Some practical experience in financial analysis, controlling, or accounting (e.g., internship or working student role) preferred
  • Strong Excel skills and basic knowledge of data analysis or reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) beneficial
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is an advantage
  • Understanding of fundamental financial principles and willingness to learn industry-specific regulation trends
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a willingness to learn
  • Very good communication skills in German and English, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team
  • Structured and organized working style
