Job description

remote - Germany, Spain, Czech Republic, Portugal, Slovakia or Austria

About us

We help European growth companies find the financing that fits them. Our platform reads their financial data, shows which capital sources are realistically available and what each would cost, and we arrange the financing from there. Built by experienced entrepreneurs, backed by top-tier venture capital investors.

Our values

We value flat hierarchies, full ownership and responsibility. Trust and open, honest communication are crucial to us, as it makes everything else easier. We work together and grow as a team.

Focus on Execution: We love and live off great ideas, but to create value we need to focus on execution.

Don't Fear Failure: We know that failure is an innate part of learning and success, so we value these experiences and take them as opportunities to try again and get better.

Trust Your Team: We trust our peers to do their best to achieve our shared goals, support each other and share their feedback so we can all grow and develop.

What you will do

You will carry your own set of deals from first contact to signed facility, and you will be the human on the other side of a process that is otherwise increasingly automated. Companies come to us because they need capital, and the first thing they need from us is a straight answer: does this fit, what would it cost, what happens next. Our platform reads their financial data and our AI pre-qualifies inbound; what it cannot do is earn someone's trust with a real conversation at the moment they are deciding whom to hand their financials to. That part is yours.

You will join a small sales team reporting to our VP Sales, and you will work day to day with underwriting, account management and marketing. The pipeline is high frequency by design: a normal week means dozens of companies in the funnel at once, across our self-serve funding motion, our advisory work and our brokerage motion, and across the new growth-SME segment we are opening up. Roughly half of your deals come through partners and referrals, so you will be building relationships on both sides of the deal, not just with borrowers. Two of our three motions are new and none of them is finished, so you will be closing deals and fixing the process you close them with at the same time. Scope grows with what you prove you can own.

Your key responsibilities
  • You own your pipeline end to end: qualify inbound and partner leads, run the discovery and structuring conversations, and take companies through to a signed facility, with a high number of live deals in parallel

  • You build trust fast and keep it: you give companies a clear, honest read on fit and timeline early, including when the answer is no, and you make our data-led process feel like it is being run by a person rather than a workflow

  • You act as pre-underwriter: you know what our credit team looks at, ask those questions in the first conversation, gather what is needed up front, and hand over a deal that is ready to be assessed instead of one that generates three rounds of follow-up

  • You guide companies through the platform: bank and accounting connections, the data they need to share and why, what they see in their liquidity view, and where the process stands at any moment

  • You keep the pipeline honest in Attio: clean records, current stages, next steps documented, so forecasts and handovers work without you in the room

  • You run the handover to account management and underwriting properly, so a company's experience does not degrade the moment it stops being your deal

  • You work with partners, brokers and referral sources on live opportunities, and feed back what you learn about fit and objections

  • You use AI as part of how you work, not as a side tool: research, call prep, drafting, ICP checks, keeping up with a pipeline one person could not otherwise cover. You know which output you can trust and which you have to verify

  • You close the loop with the rest of the company: which objections keep coming up, where the funnel and the product lose people, what marketing should say differently

Who we are looking for

Musts

  • You have a completed bachelor's or master's degree

  • You speak and write German at a professional level and English fluently. German is the working language with most of our companies and partners; English is the working language inside the team

  • You are genuinely ambitious and want to build a commercial career, and you would rather own a number than be handed a script

  • You are good with people in the way that matters here: you listen, you ask the uncomfortable question early, you are comfortable telling a founder or CFO something they do not want to hear, and you follow up when you said you would

  • You can hold high volume without dropping things. Many companies, many deals, many open threads, and a system for keeping track that does not depend on remembering

  • You work AI-first. AI tools are a default part of how you work, you troubleshoot independently instead of escalating, and you think critically about what AI gives you: what to trust, what to verify, where the risk sits

  • You are a self-starter with a high tolerance for ambiguity. You do your best work with sparring rather than close supervision, and stay effective when priorities shift and processes are still being written

  • You are curious about finance and want to understand what you are selling: cash runway, growth, what makes a company fundable and what does not

  • You have a valid EU work permit and reside within the EU. re:cap does not offer visa or relocation support at the moment

Can-learns

  • Experience in finance, fintech, or a start-up or scale-up. A plus, not a requirement. We would rather hire attitude and teach the domain

  • Credit and financing fundamentals. You do not need to arrive knowing how a facility is structured or what underwriting looks at

  • CRM and sales tooling. We use Attio and Customer.io, and you will learn our stack here

  • Structured sales craft: discovery frameworks, qualification, negotiation. We will coach this

What you can expect
  • Remote first. Our team is located all over Germany and Europe, with the flexibility of 100% home office. However, if you are in Berlin you are more than welcome to come around the office and maybe even bring your furry friend

  • Stock options. Every employee receives stocks, because our success is also your success

  • Development opportunities. Because we care about your growth, we have regular feedback talks as well as set paths for the development of each employee

  • Flexibility. We offer flexible working hours and value asynchronous communication as well. On top we offer 25 vacation days

  • Team building. Meet the team at in-person on-sites, get a buddy to fully integrate into the company and join other team events

  • Workation. Experience the blend of work and leisure with our worldwide new benefit catering to your work-away-from-home needs

  • International health insurance for business trips and workation. We prioritise your well-being and guarantee you comprehensive insurance cover, no matter where your travels take you

  • Choice. You get a monthly budget to finance a benefit of your choice
