Job purpose

In this position you are responsible for customer accounts within several product lines. You give support to the Key Account and / or Sales Manager regarding the acquisition of projects with the customers and you work actively at the development and maintenance of customer relations. The focus of your job is the achievement of our internal goals and the increase of customer satisfaction. You give support with cost calculation and quotations, you lead price negotiations with our customers and negotiate contract terms. You are for both the customer and internal contact partner for all customer related topics.

Key Roles and responsibility

  • Development and maintenance of customer relations
  • Development of proactive plans, follow-up and recording the progress of new business opportunities (NBO) with regard to the sales objectives
  • Support of the strategic and commercial evaluation of new projects
  • Preparation of offers
  • Price negotiations with the customers
  • Negotiation of project and customer specific contractual terms
  • Participation in forecast- und long term planning
  • Support of Key Account Manager / Sales Manager with strategic direction of the global customer accounts
  • Support the tracking of the project- and cost planning
  • Global coordination of possible customer problems
  • Review of contracts in collaboration with legal department with regard to compliance with BorgWarner guidelines
  • Monitoring of market dynamics, including developments of customer- and competitive developments and forwarding the relevant information to appropriate sales management to merge data in our market analysis

Your Profile

  • Engineer (industrial engineering, mechanical engineering or business administration with strong technical understanding (at least Bachelor degree)
  • Very good communication skills
  • Positive presence and assertiveness, strong negotiation skills
  • Result oriented and entrepreneurial thinking
  • Experience with complex products and products in need of explanation
  • Proficient with Microsoft office products
  • Knowledge of SAP preferred
  • German and English fluent in spoken and written
  • Willingness to travel (approx. 25%)
