Job Description:

Major Function:

The Director of Assessment and Accreditation will assist the Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness by providing administrative leadership for all assessment efforts on campus, as well as coordinate continued compliance with SACSCOC principles and policies.

Primary duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Managing the College’s assessment of student and program learning outcomes process, including reviewing and reaffirming student learning outcomes, curriculum maps, and the 5-Year Plan for Associate of Science degree programs
• Improving assessment processes and procedures
• Promoting the use of assessment results to enhance teaching and learning
• Establishing communication with key stakeholders across campus to support assessment and accreditation
• Integrating technical resources to increase evaluation efficiency

Accreditation and Planning activities:

• Supporting efforts to address recommendations from the Fifth-Year Review Committee
• Supporting submissions for substantive changes to SACSCOC, such as teach-outs and new programs
• Enhancing the College’s substantive change processes

Educational Research support and activities:

• Leading educational research tasks to support institutional effectiveness
• Producing evaluation studies and analyzing survey data
• Improving IRB processes and supporting grant applications
• Leading research studies for publications

Official Communication and Media Maintenance:

• Designing content for assessment, accreditation, and research support services
• Updating and maintaining SACSCOC information on the official website
• Managing assessment and accreditation websites

Manage surveys:

• Designing, developing, and validating survey instruments
• Overseeing survey administration campus-wide

Other duties:

• Leading various projects and applying interdisciplinary knowledge
• Performing additional duties to support office effectiveness
• Keeping campus informed of assessment applications

Minimum training/experience:

A master's degree in Higher Education, Educational Research, Educational Leadership, or related field, with three years of experience in assessment or evaluation. A doctorate and experience with SACSCOC accreditation are preferred.

Success indicators:

Knowledge of research design and statistics, proficiency with software like SAS and SPSS, ability to conduct educational research, analyze data, develop research tools, and communicate effectively. Ability to work independently and collaborate with faculty and staff.
