Job Description

I am the technical lead, responsible for tailor-made software developments addressing specific business needs and contributing to the digital energy transition. Why is this role interesting for me? The Elia Group is at the forefront of the energy transition.

As an architect, I will be part of an international development chapter, collaborating with professionals such as software engineers and architects to develop and maintain high-quality, scalable, and efficient software solutions. My tasks as a Java architect include:

1. Development of solutions and communication with stakeholders
2. Identification of necessary software components and tools
3. Setting technical specifications and documentation
4. Ensuring high development quality (e.g., via code reviews)
5. Implementing governance rules and standardization for stable and durable application design
6. Applying cybersecurity best practices to protect critical energy infrastructure and ensure compliance with standards
7. Defining and maintaining the relevant technology stack
8. Collaborating with application managers and product owners
9. Leading a team of internal and external developers to achieve product goals
10. Adapting to project management methodologies
11. Considering requirements of critical IT infrastructure

My profile:

• IT/tech-related academic degree (bachelor's or master's)
• Several years of experience with the Java stack
• Excellent knowledge of Java frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot)
• Good knowledge of redundant, highly available systems, microservice architectures, API-centric designs, and development environments
• Knowledge of software design patterns and continuous integration methodologies
• Skills: English and German (C1)
• Nice to have: Experience with cloud development (public and private), Java web technologies (gRPC, BPMN solutions), web libraries, OAuth2.0, graph databases, NoSQL, Kubernetes

Work environment:

• 37 hours per week (full-time)
