We are currently looking for an experienced Java engineer to join our existing team and shape the future of global commerce with MODIFI!

Your impact:

1. Create, extend and test microservices written in Java / Spring Boot, using a variety of related technologies
2. Write clean and maintainable code following best practices, that your colleagues love to read and easily enhance
3. Analyze non-technical requirements and discuss your own technical solutions with the team
4. Work closely with Frontend Engineers and Product Managers in order to build best in class products for our customers
5. Extend and advance the data model
6. Take full ownership and responsibility for your code throughout the whole software development lifecycle (you build it, you run it, you own it!)
7. Rapidly fix bugs that occur in production

This is a hybrid onsite position for our Berlin-based team.

Requirements

1. You have experience of 4-7 years in software development.
2. You have been professionally engaged in developing, maintaining and deploying microservice-based applications written in Spring Boot for at least 4 years
3. You are an expert in Java 8 (or newer versions) and you have sound knowledge and experience in clean design of modern REST APIs
4. During your previous roles, you have gained robust knowledge with Spring Data, data modeling and SQL databases
5. Nice-to-have: Ideally, your Java development skills are supplemented by experience in working with asynchronous / event driven systems
6. Working as part of a team is in your DNA: You count on your team to support you. At the same time your team can count on you. Anytime!
7. You are thrilled to work in fast pace, zero-politics environments in which you learn a lot and make an impact
8. You are fluent in English
