IT System Administrator (m/f/d)

The Mission

OroraTech’s internal IT infrastructure has always been well maintained & planned out, as a significant portion of responsible developers have a networking & systems administration background themselves. As we are planning to grow to 150+ people in the next few years, this can’t be done completely by ourselves anymore. Your job will be to take over IT responsibilities step-by-step, while further improving the infrastructure to support future growth and additional use-cases.

With each of our different departments having different requirements when it comes to IT infrastructure, you will have to work closely with them to support them in their IT working environment.

What you’ll be doing

• Maintenance and automation of heterogeneous office, data processing and lab server infrastructure (Ansible)
• Lead design & implementation efforts for our on-premise data storage and processing systems
• Integrate with and extend our existing cloud-based services and infrastructure (GCP/GSuite, Gitlab, Confluence)
• Server and workstation installation automation and management (Debian/Windows/macOS)
• Internal network infrastructure (Unifi)
• Support colleagues with IT infrastructure questions and projects

Relevant Skills

• Vocational training or university background in Computer Science, or similar
• Practical experience (prior jobs, internships, university projects, open-source projects, academia/research, etc.) with Linux systems required
• Knowledge about network technology & topologies
• Familiarity with software configuration management tools like Ansible
• Experience with git, bash, docker and basic programming skills in a scripting language like Python
• Strong communication skills; Fluent in English, German is a plus
• Awareness of IT security principles
