For the Communication and Information Center, Information Systems Department, we are seeking an

IT specialist (m/f/d).

With around 140 employees, kiz is the second-largest central institution at Ulm University, providing library, information technology, and media services for research, teaching, studies, and administration.

The Information Systems department manages application systems for university administration, e-learning, and library services, and develops or implements IT applications in projects.

This position offers an exciting and varied role with independent tasks in the scientific field.

Your Profile

• Completed training as an IT specialist or a comparable qualification
• Detailed knowledge of SQL databases and the OpenOffice programming interface
• Proficiency in programming, query, and page description languages HTML, XHTML, XML, XSLT, XSL-FO
• Basic knowledge of IP networks (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Ethernet), Linux, Java & Javascript
• Basic English skills to understand operating instructions and communicate with English-speaking users
• Excellent written and spoken German (C1)
• Teamwork, ability to work under pressure, independent working style, and strong communication skills

Your Tasks

• Creating programmatically generated print products, serial messages (emails), reports, and lists in HISinOne APP, STU, EXA, RES, and DOC modules or migrating from HiS QiS
• Analyzing and fixing faults and errors using modern diagnostic tools (Linux system monitoring, HIS log files, database editor)
• Coordinating and conducting extensive tests after updates or troubleshooting
• Escalating issues independently to HIS support for resolution
• Providing 2nd level support
• Supporting the implementation of IT system requirements derived from target processes
• Implementing new user requirements, system changes, and measures for system security
• Assisting with the technical development of the HIO system
