Together with your colleagues, you will ensure the stable operation of these systems, analyze performance, security and stability aspects of daily operations and contribute significantly to the design and procurement of new expansion stages of our HPC, cloud and storage solutions with these findings, enriched by personal feedback from our users from the MPG.

Sound knowledge in several of the following areas is also desirable

  • Distributed as well as parallel file systems (CephFS, NFS, Samba, GPFS, Lustre, BeeGFS)
  • Infrastructure-as-a-Service platforms (OpenStack)
  • Software-defined networking (Open vSwitch, Open Virtual Network)
  • Archiving systems (HPSS, Versity, Blackpearl)
  • Backup environments (TSM, Bacula, Veeam)
  • Configuration management (Ansible, Puppet, Git)
  • Distributed web applications (HAProxy, Nginx, PHP, Redis, MariaDB)
  • Cloud-native and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, OpenStack Heat Orchestration)

This full-time position can be filled as soon as possible. Depending on qualifications and experience, pay grades up to pay group 13 TVöD (collective agreement for the public service) are possible.

The positions are initially limited to 2 years, but long-term cooperation is expressly sought.

At MPCDF, you can expect a highly motivated, multidisciplinary team in an open, international and inspiring atmosphere. We offer flexible working hours, the possibility of mobile working as well as training and further education options. Our campus is easy to reach by subway (line U6), and subsidies for the MVV Job Ticket are also provided.
