Jobtailor in Hamburg, Germany seeks an experienced Network Engineer to operate, administer, and advance our enterprise networks across locations. You will handle routing, switching, firewalling, and segmentation while enabling site connectivity with VPNs and hybrid cloud integration.

You will collaborate with Cloud, Platform, and Security teams, contribute to IaC transformations, document thoroughly, and own network architecture decisions.

Qualifikationen

• Several years of experience operating and developing enterprise networks.
• In-depth knowledge of routing, switching, firewalling, and network segmentation (VLANs, VRFs, ACLs).
• Experience with VPN technologies: site-to-site, client VPN, IPsec, or comparable.
• Knowledge of hybrid connectivity: Azure ExpressRoute and/or AWS Direct Connect, Azure Arc.
• Foundational knowledge of cloud networking: Azure VNets, subnets, NSGs, peering, and/or AWS VPCs and security groups.
• Experience with network hardware from leading manufacturers (Check Point, Cisco).
• Open to Network as Code and managing network configurations as code (Ansible, Terraform).
• Scripting skills in PowerShell or Python for network task automation.
• Ability to think of on-premises and cloud networks as one integrated system.
• Very good German and good English skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate, administer, and continuously develop the network infrastructure across all locations
• Perform routing, switching, firewalling, and network segmentation
• Implement site connectivity using VPN, WAN connections, and redundancy concepts
• Monitor networks and troubleshoot issues
• Provide technical support for new site deployments, including network planning, implementation, and documentation
• Take responsibility for network connectivity between on-premises and cloud environments
• Implement network segmentation in cloud and on-premises environments
• Manage DNS, DHCP, and name resolution in the hybrid environment
• Design and implement hybrid management solutions
• Coordinate with the Cloud & Platform team regarding responsibilities for network resources
• Provide third-level support for complex network incidents
• Lead technical projects involving migrations, site connectivity, and segmentation
• Contribute to the Infrastructure as Code (IaC) transformation
• Create and maintain network documentation
• Implement network security requirements, including least privilege and Zero Trust Networking
• Conduct regular reviews of firewall rules and access concepts
• Support security audits and compliance requirements
• Serve as the point of contact for the IT Project Manager regarding feasibility, effort, and risks
• Coordinate technical resources within the department
• Ensure smooth and well-documented handovers to operations

Requirements

• Several years of experience operating and further developing enterprise networks
