The German Primate Center GmbH (DPZ) - Leibniz Institute for Primate Research in Göttingen conducts basic research in the fields of primate biology, molecular biomedicine and neuroscience. It maintains four field stations and is a competence and reference center for primate-related research. The DPZ is one of the 96 research and infrastructure facilities of the Leibniz Association.

Head of IT (m/f/d)
Your Area Of Responsibility- Technical and organizational management of the six-person IT team
- Ensuring efficient IT operations for a heterogeneous system landscape with Windows, macOS, Linux, networks, server, storage and media technology
- Strategic further development of a user-friendly, future-proof and research-oriented IT landscape
- Ensuring customer-oriented IT support for around 450 IT users
- Development and implementation of IT security strategies, data protection concepts and emergency plans as well as continuous optimization of the IT security architecture
- Planning and managing IT projects, coordinating with external service providers and actively supporting the institute's digital transformation
Your Profile- Completed (technical) university degree in computer science, business informatics or a comparable qualification (e.g. IT specialist with additional qualifications) and several years of professional experience
- Management experience and enjoyment, ideally in a scientific environment
- Sound experience in the design, development and operation of complex IT infrastructures, particularly in the areas of servers, storage, virtualization, IT security and service management
- Organizational strength, decisiveness and strong strategic and conceptual thinking skills
- Structured, solution-oriented and service-oriented way of working with a hands-on mentality
- Interest in supporting scientific projects and enthusiasm for innovative IT developments
- Very good German and good written and spoken English skills
