Airbus Defence and Space GmbH is seeking an IT Infrastructure Architect to design and run enterprise IT infrastructure. The role embeds in Engineering and enables DevOps to scale development environments globally, upholding ownership and end-to-end accountability.

The successful candidate brings 5–10 years in enterprise IT infra, strong IaC experience and hands-on network, virtualization, and Linux expertise. Permanent, onsite position with excellent benefits in Germany.

Qualifikationen

• Master degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5–10 years of professional experience in design and operation of Enterprise IT Infrastructure.
• In-depth experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Ansible, Terraform).
• High level of expertise in virtualization, storage and automation.
• Hands-on experience in designing, implementing and maintaining network infrastructure (Cisco, Aruba, SonicOS).
• Experience with dynamic provisioning and immutable systems.
• Understanding of High Availability, scalability and fault tolerance.
• Solid Linux skills across multiple distributions.
• Experience in scripting or programming languages (Python, Bash, C++, Go).

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for an IT Infrastructure Architect (d/f/m) As an IT organization embedded inside Engineering, we provide modern and scalable Development & Integration Environments for several hundred Engineers. We actively define and implement the IT Architecture of our products which are used by customers around the globe. To support our business growth, we are currently looking for an additional experienced IT Infrastructure Architect / Engineer. You have the chance to directly shape the evolution of our infrastructure and products. Responsibilities

• Capture the infrastructure needs and requirements from our Developers and DevOps Engineers
• Define the technology strategy for our IT Infrastructure
• Develop, implement and maintain infrastructure service
• Design IT infrastructure architectural blueprints for our products
• Compile infrastructure policies and define standards
• Maintain our internal IaaS Services and the underlying technologies (e.g. Proxmox, Kubernetes)
• Maintain our internal PaaS Services (e.g. Jenkins, Nexus, Vault, openNMS, Foreman...)
• Coordinate closely with corporate IT services like Corporate Governance

Desired Skills and Qualifications

• Master degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or a related discipline
• At least 5 to 10 years of professional experience in the design and operation of Enterprise IT Infrastructure
• A deep understanding and experience with Infrastructure-as-Code Tools (e.g. Ansible, Terraform or comparable solutions)
• High Level of expertise in at least one or more related fields (e.g. virtualization, storage, automation...)
• Hands-on experience in designing, implementing and maintaining Network infrastructure (e.g. Cisco, Aruba, SonicOS)
• Experience with dynamic Provisioning and Immutable Systems
• A good understanding what High-Availability, Scalability and Fault tolerance mean
• Solid Multi-Distro Linux Skills
• Experience in one or more Scripting / programming languages (Python, Bash, C++, Go...)
