Introduction

We are looking for an IT Director, who wants to work for a high-tech manufacturing/engineering, multi-site business with a focus on IT security. The IT Director reports to the CFO and works closely with the directors of business units and sites to ensure that IT Services, IT Infrastructure and Information Systems are modernised, robust, reliable, secure and fulfil current and future business needs.

The IT Director will lead 4 teams: IT infrastructure team, SAP/ERP team, Business application team and Services Delivery team. IT is located mostly in Jülich and Almelo. Services are delivered to 5 sites (Germany, France, the Netherlands, UK and US). Currently the IT team consists of +/- 55 people and will grow to +/- 75 people.

This is what you will do

• Ensure that IT delivers a modernised, robust, reliable, secure and cost effective Information and Communication Technology Services, applications and infrastructure.
• Provide expertise and advice at the most senior level on IT policy and strategy.
• Develop and maintain a strategy for SAP/ERP landscape and other applications to support business processes.
• Analyse requirements of business to determine its technology and information needs and manage business relationship.
• Manage the change from a local to a global IT organisation.
• Maintain knowledge of current best practice, implementing solutions as appropriate and enhance digitalization.
• Manage a portfolio of IT projects and align on priorities with business and management.
• Develop and implement SLAs and reporting, be responsible for monthly performance to CFO and Site Directors.
• Lead/motivate your team by giving a clear direction following the approved IT strategy. Providing line management, coaching and support to Team Leaders.
• Prepare and manage IT budgets, agreed with CEO/CFO each year, ensuring they deliver value, cover risks and are not breached.

Your profile

• >10 years experience in IT with 3 years in an IT leadership role including leading multi-disciplinary IT teams.
• Strong knowledge of group wide SAP/ERP systems. Experience within industry is beneficial.
• Experience with IT environments with a high security standard is beneficial.
• Proven ability to engage constructively with colleagues at all levels across different business units.
• Ability to build a multicultural team, manage staff, supervise and mentor.
• Experienced and capable of leading implementation and transformative initiatives on a global scale.
• Very good and experienced in communication with different stakeholders.
• A good team player with a hands-on approach, can-do mentality and adaptable to new challenges.
• Willingness to work mostly on site and travel to other ETC locations (20%); fluent in English.
