A functioning economy needs a stable banking system. Banking supervision therefore has the task of monitoring the business activities of financial companies and maintaining investor confidence.

The employees of the audit units contribute to this by carrying out on-site audits at financial companies. Their business trips take them to destinations in Germany and abroad. Based on supervisory regulations, the auditors assess the functioning and appropriateness of ICT risk management and the ICT processes of financial companies and their ICT third-party service providers.

Work of particular value : Your assignment with us

  • As part of banking supervision, you will take part in banking audits of financial companies and their (cloud) ICT third-party service providers (including payment service providers, service providers for cryptoassets) in Germany and abroad.
  • They assess the functioning and appropriateness of ICT risk management and ICT processes on the basis of supervisory regulations.
  • You are an expert in the team for information security (e.g. network security, cryptography, vulnerability management, penetration tests), application development (e.g. design, programming, build, test, deployment) and application and infrastructure operations.
  • Your tasks will include independently analyzing documents from financial companies and conducting interviews with their employees.
  • The results of the audits are summarized in audit reports in German or English.
  • You present the audit results to the supervisory authorities and to the audited financial companies.
  • Master's degree or equivalent degree in (business) informatics
  • Study focus or professional experience in the above-mentioned IT security topics is expected
  • Strong ability to understand and assess complex processes
  • Independence and strong ability to work in a team
  • Very good written and spoken German and English skills
  • Willingness to travel extensively to take part in examinations at various locations in Germany and abroad

Remuneration in line with TVöD on the basis of pay group E 13, plus bank bonus (depending on your experience, approx. € 62,000 to € 95,000), additional pension scheme, secure job in the public sector with reliable working conditions, permanent employment contract, international working environment, targeted training, basic civil servant option, option to continue an existing civil servant relationship (up to A 15)
