Your profile

You have a bachelor's degree in computer science, a successfully completed internal IT-2 course or a comparable qualification.

You are motivated, independent and service-oriented. You are a team player and also have good comprehension skills, problem-solving skills and a systematic, well-founded way of working.

Ideally, You Have

• Sound knowledge in the administration of current Linux distributions such as (RHEL/Rocky Linux) as well as in dealing with Linux-based web and application servers.
• Sound knowledge in the implementation and administration of the products Kubernetes and Podman
• Experience in the area of vector databases e.g. Qdrant.
• Experience with complex system and network environments under Linux.
• Experience with shell and scripting languages.
• Enjoy familiarizing yourself with new technologies and testing them for possible use.
• You communicate confidently in German and English
  
  

Your tasks

You will support the NRW-wide project KI: connect.nrw . Your focus is on the administration of the RWTHgpt and KI:connect infrastructure and the associated services.

In the Systems and Operations department, you will plan, operate and expand the team's services for Linux-based applications.

Your Tasks Include

• Support in a NRW-wide project in the fields of GPT and AI.
• You provide the GPT instance for use within the RWTH and for other universities in NRW, including operation, maintenance and monitoring.
• You support your team with the administration and configuration of other central RWTH services based on Linux systems
• help users within the scope of 2nd and 3rd level support. In addition, there is the possibility to participate in an on-call service for selected central services of the team
• Communication and cooperation with other teams of the IT Center and other university institutions within the scope of the above-mentioned tasks
• After completion of KI: connect.nrw, you will take on tasks such as adapting documentation, organizing training courses and carrying out updates.
  
  

Our offer

The recruitment takes place in an employment relationship.

The position is to be filled at the earliest possible date and is temporary for up to 2 years.

The fixed term is based on

• 14 para. 1 of the Part-Time and Fixed-Term Employment Act (TzBfG). This is a full-time position. The classification is based on the TV-L. The position is valued at EG 10.
