Job Description Summary

The Investment Director supports the execution of strategies and programs that drive the financial and operational performance of the Company’s Investment platform by gathering and analysing market, property, and portfolio data, identifying opportunities for improving financial and/or operational performance, managing programs that promote revenue or client satisfaction enhancement, and performing other analytical, program management, or tasks that support the daily operation of the business.

Key Role Responsibilities

  • Leads the pursuit of new acquisition opportunities by communicating with brokers and sellers and by reviewing and guiding financial modelling and market analysis.
  • Responsible for the preparation of internal documentation to process potential investments through internal approval processes.
  • Manages due diligence process including budgets and ongoing negotiations; and closings with outside counsel.
  • Gathers financial, market, and other data to evaluate the overall performance of potential investments versus established budgets, and targets, by preparing summaries, reports, recommendations, and other interpretive reports for senior management.
  • Works with internal teams and external parties to create, support and defend investment thesis.
  • Provides support and assistance to key business leaders and others by fielding questions and requests and gathering data and reports.
  • Leads and manages team members; interviewing, hiring, on boarding and developing direct reports and other team members as appropriate and managing their performance in accordance with Company policies, values, and business practices.
  • Completes various financial, accounting, administrative, and other reports and analysis, and performs other duties as assigned or as necessary.

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent a related business or analytical subject; such as finance, business management, real estate, accounting, economics, mathematics, statistics; science or engineering.
  • MBA in real estate, business or finance (preferred).
  • IT literate and fully conversant with all Microsoft packages including PowerPoint (Advanced level) and Excel (Advanced level).
  • Understanding of residential rental housing markets.

Experience & Skills

  • Significant senior level experience of leading institutional deals, from origination to closing, within a real estate investment environment.
  • Demonstrable real estate experience within Germany (essential) and internationally (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of real estate and debt markets; and of standard terms and structures of deal capital.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills to effectively assess sensitivities and pressure points during complex negotiations.
  • Commercially focused and able to apply sound business principals.
  • Demonstrated management and leadership skills and sufficient to recruit, lead and manage team members to achieve high performance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; including the ability to effectively write and present reports and information.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships and act with impact and influence at all levels.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills to juggle complex tasks and manage the workload of others, with the ability to work effectively under pressure, to deadlines and work flexibly in change environment.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, both with respect to managing workload and own professional development.
  • Fluency in English.

Desirable

  • Experience in student/co-living/multifamily investments or similar investment strategies.
