Job Description:

The Investigator Contracts Lead is responsible for site-facing contract and budget negotiations, including initial agreements and amendments, oversight of contracting professionals, and managing the Per-Subject Cost process. The role involves planning and solving complex contracting situations with minimal oversight, managing escalations, and collaborating across divisions to ensure study timelines and contractual compliance.

  • Exercise independent judgment in site contracting
  • Manage contract/budget escalations
  • Make decisions balancing risks and trial timelines
  • Solve moderate complexity contracting issues
  • Develop, negotiate, and execute clinical study agreements
  • Oversee global site budget processes
  • Negotiate costs and contractual terms with investigators and institutions
  • Build relationships with key sites and organizations
  • Lead negotiation teams and act as primary contact for site issues
  • Partner with Legal and other divisions to manage escalations and improvements
  • Apply advanced knowledge of site contracting and budgets
  • Coordinate with invoicing teams to ensure alignment
  • Contribute to major business initiatives and projects
Basic Qualifications:
  • 7+ years in clinical development operations or outsourcing, with a bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Extensive experience with clinical study budgets and contract negotiations
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to mitigate risks and lead influence-based initiatives
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years with a master's degree in related fields
  • 2+ years with a Juris Doctorate or similar, with expertise in drafting and negotiating clinical trial agreements
