Job Description:

The Investigator Contracts Lead is responsible for site-facing contract and budget negotiations, including initial agreements, amendments, and oversight of contracting professionals on assigned studies. This includes managing the Per-Subject Cost process, escalation, resolution of budget and legal issues, and collaborating on site contracting timelines.

  • Balance risks and trial timelines in budget and contractual decisions.
  • Develop, negotiate, and execute global clinical study agreements following GPD processes.
  • Oversee the global site budget process.
  • Negotiate terms with investigators/institutions, within approved templates.
  • Build relationships with investigational sites and Site Management Organizations.
  • Lead study-level site contracting activities and serve as primary contact for site issues.
  • Partner with Legal and other divisions on escalations and improvements in site contracting.
  • Coordinate with invoicing teams to align contracting and compensation.
  • Apply job skills to moderate scope projects and contribute to major initiatives.
Basic Qualifications:
  • 5+ years in clinical development operations or outsourcing, with a bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience with clinical study budgets and negotiations.
  • Knowledge of business, compliance, finance, legal, and drug development principles.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to mitigate risks to site contracting timelines.
  • Leadership ability through influence in a matrix organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in clinical operations or outsourcing, with a JD or legal degree.
  • Experience drafting and negotiating Clinical Trial Agreements globally.
