Job Description

The Investigator Contracts Lead is responsible for managing site-facing contract and budget negotiations from initial agreements to amendments, overseeing other contracting professionals on assigned studies. This role includes managing the Per-Subject Cost (PSC) process, escalation and resolution of budget and non-legal issues, and collaborating on site contracting timelines during start-up.

  • Exercise good judgment in balancing Pfizer's risks and clinical trial timelines when making budget and contractual decisions.
  • Follow GPD processes to develop, negotiate, track, and execute global clinical study agreements with institutions and investigators.
  • Develop and oversee the global site budget process in collaboration with partners.
  • Negotiate cost, business, and contractual terms directly with investigators and institutions, making changes within approved templates.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key investigational sites and Site Management Organizations.
  • Lead study-level site contracting activities, acting as the primary point of contact for site issues and timelines.
  • Partner with Legal and other divisions to manage escalations and improve site contracting processes.
  • Collaborate with divisions like Legal, Finance, and pCRO to identify improvements in site contracting.
  • Apply knowledge of business principles, concepts, and theories relevant to the role.
  • Coordinate with invoicing teams to ensure alignment with site contracting and compensation.
  • Utilize acquired skills to complete moderate scope projects and tasks.
  • Contribute to major business initiatives and projects, applying technical and discipline knowledge to achieve objectives within GPD or WSR functions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in clinical development operations or outsourcing, with a bachelor's degree.
  • Experience with clinical study budgets and contracting negotiations.
  • Knowledge of business, compliance, finance, legal, and drug development practices.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to plan and mitigate risks to site contracting timelines.
  • Proven ability to influence without authority and work effectively in a matrix organization.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in clinical operations or outsourcing, with a US Juris Doctorate or legal degree.
  • Experience drafting and negotiating Clinical Trial Agreements globally.
