Investigations Officer

Location: North Rhine-Westphalia

Our client is seeking an Investigations Officer to join their team. This role is ideal for professionals with a legal background in investigations, compliance, and white-collar crime, and who are motivated to contribute to corporate integrity and legal risk mitigation. The role includes leading and supporting internal investigations and handling sensitive misconduct and integrity issues across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct internal investigations into potential legal and compliance violations, including misconduct, fraud, and corruption.
  • Manage eDiscovery processes, document reviews, and legal audits.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Compliance, Audit, and HR, to assess risks and recommend remedial actions.
  • Provide legal advice on matters related to white-collar crime, criminal law, and corporate integrity.
  • Draft investigation reports and summaries for internal stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
  • Support training and awareness initiatives related to ethics, integrity, and compliance.
  • Monitor regulatory trends and contribute to proactive risk management strategies.

Requirements:

  • Fully qualified German Lawyer, or a degree in business law or economics.
  • 2–6 years of post-qualification experience in investigations, compliance, or criminal law.
  • Strong knowledge of white-collar crime, criminal law, and corporate misconduct matters.
  • Experience with eDiscovery platforms and investigation protocols.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive issues discreetly.
  • Understanding of criminal psychology and internal risk dynamics is a strong advantage.
  • Proficiency in English and German (spoken and written).
